Sony vegas 9 trial11/20/2022 For SD programs, I get the following file format:ħ04 (or 720) x480, upper field first, AC3 (Dolby) 2/0. Mpeg2: Everything works fine as long as you are ok with the following output (rendering) limitations:ħ20x480, lower field first, mpeg audio. In fact, this product has more problems than ULEAD. The advertising for Sony Vegas lead me to believe that they had more to offer. I am currently using the Corel (ULEAD) product, but it has limitations. To preserve the HD quality I need AVCHD (H.264), which is much cheaper all around than Blu-Ray. My TV capture card is used to record HD & SD programming. You can ungroup the audio from the video and move it around on the time line! Pros: Out Of Sync (OOS): One of the great features of this product is that it becomes relatively easy to fix the dreaded OOS problems that can occur when editing. Spend the extra time to learn what a truly pro package feels like. A bargain price for the pro features you get and the solid system this is. It works and responds like a professional system. Head and shoulders above everything else. It takes a bit more work to learn but boy is it worth it. Vegas is pretty much the only one I use anymore. In my view this is completely unacceptable. I own most of the major video editing packages and while they are usable, they will crash. After working for 2 hours, the program crashed and he lost everything. Just yesterday, I talked to a friend who uses one of the other programs. Certainly they all have their plusses and minuses but all are unreliable. Overall Review: Most consumer video editing software is terrible. Overall a killer package for a killer price.Ĭons: A little steeper learning curve than most of the other packages but it comes with good tutorials on the help menu. This version comes with Audio Studio (my kids use that to make ring tones!). Editing options and tools are powerful and fairly easy to learn. Been using this program for over 2 years and have never lost a project or seen the blue screen of death. Pros: Does everything you would ever need and does it with rock solid stability. Granted, I tried demos of the competing video editors before deciding on Vegas, and found this to be the most full featured, easiest to use, and, oddly enough, one of the cheapest editors on the market considering the amount of extra content is included with the already solid NLE. Overall Review: I have yet to see more bang for the buck than Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 Pro Pack. Also, the demo crashed on me once, but so far the full version has been rock solid, so don't let the stability of the demo influence your purchase. For me, it's not worth forking over the extra cash, plus I have had no need for more than four tracks so far. I could go on, but I'll spare you the intimate details and just tell you to go ahead and buy Vegas 9.Ĭons: Only four channels of video/audio is a little weak, so if you think you'll need more, you may want to spring for the more expensive Vegas Pro. I've even gotten the chroma keyer (green screen) to work moderately well in just a couple of minutes. Pros: Easy interface, tons of effects, free 2 gig flash drive, integrated DVD authoring, integrated sound editing, integrated Cinescore plugin to make your own soundtrack (admittedly not the best tool in the world, but fun to play around with, nonetheless), able to burn to Blu Ray.
